Management Team Roster Employment Opportunities

Management of Security Operations deals with the overall Command and Control on one level, and non-protection related support roles on another.

Duties and Responsibilities

Command and Control roles are essentially the same as described for Protection/Support Team Leaders, but are concerned with the Operation as a whole, and not just a particular team. Typically, the Senior, or Operational Commander, will be responsible for all tactical considerations of the Security Plan and Operation, whereas the Second in Command, or Chief of Staff will be concerned with the logistical, administrative and other non-protection related support elements. Primary duties include, but are not limited to;
  • Tasking and supervision of, and overall responsibility for, all Teams under their command;
  • Sourcing, readiness and utilization of required resources;
  • Creation, implementation and revision, where necessary, of the Security Plan;
  • Creation and implementation of an overall training plan and continuous exercises, both during the pre-deployment and operational deployment phases of the operation;
  • Security briefings, and updates, as required, to the client and all elements of the Security Team;
  • Identification, classification and ranking of potential targets;
  • Liaison with client and local elements necessary to the implementation of the Security Plan;
  • Logistical and Administrative concerns of the Operation;
  • Emergency / Evacuation planning for the Operation, and
  • Other duties necessary to ensure effective protection is being provided.
Non-Protection Support roles can encompass all other aspects of the Security operations which are not defined elsewhere and will primarily be used in large, complex, or geographically diverse operations which have multiple management levels. Typical tasks may include procurement, medical, finances, logistical and administrative support.

Desired Skills / Experience

For Command and Control positions, military command experience (Officer or Senior NCO level) in a Combat Arms role at a platoon or company (or equivalent) level with a minimum of;
  • Six (6) years Regular Force;
  • Ten (10) years Primary Reserve, or
  • Combination of Regular and Reserve Force experience, including attachment to Regular Forces for training or operational deployment, totalling six (6) years " full-time " employment.
For those with less than the minimum military experience, significant Police or International Security experience in a senior command or supervisory position will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
