Employment Opportunities

Employment opportunities within Bastion Security are classified as long-term (full or part time) positions at Corporate or Regional offices, or contract positions within the Security Teams. Specific career or contract opportunities will be made available as needed. Details may be found by viewing the pages or documents as titled below.


Careers

Long-term positions will be primarily non-operational and may include the following descriptions;
  • Corporate Management;
  • Regional Managament;
  • Administrative Support;
  • Logistical Support, and
  • Business Development.
Long-term operational positions will primarily be filled internally based on their performance on operations within a Security Team, but prospective employees with specialized skills not present with existing personnel will be considered if a need for that skill is required on a long-term basis. Example positions include, but are not limited to;
  • Training Teams;
  • Consulting Teams, and
  • Intelligence Teams.

Security Team Roster

Personnel required for all elements of the Security Team are staffed from our roster unless a specialized skill for a specific mission can not be performed by roster personnel. Inclusion in the Roster is no guarantee of present or future employment. Selection of Security Team members or leaders for Operational Employment is based on the following criteria;
  • Operational Readiness and availability;
  • Contract requirements;
  • Skills and training, and
  • Operational performance and ability to function within an integrated team.
Continued listing in the roster is contingent on operational readiness, satisfactory performance during previous operations as well as a minimal acceptance of operational deployments and training.

Non-Protection related support roles will generally only be required for large, long-term operations where the Chief-of-Staff requires administrative, logistical or other support. As a general rule, these positions will be filled by personnel with previous international experience, local contracts or persons with extensive knowledge of the local economy where Security Operations are being performed, or from existing staff in Regional or Corporate Offices. Positions which can not be filled in these manners will be posted on the Bastion Security Web Site, or advertised externally when they become available.

Resume Submission

You are invited to submit your Resume for consideration. Applications sent by e-mail must be submitted in the following formats only (in order of preference);
  • .pdf (Portable Document Format);
  • .rtf (Rich Text Format);
  • .txt (ASCII text with no special formatting);
Documents sent in other electronic formats will not be viewed. This includes Microsoft Word and Word Perfect formats as these programs are not used within The Fortress Group of Companies Ltd or its Operating Divisions.

Resumes should include the following information;
  • Personal information, including;
    • Regular and Alternate contact information (phone, e-mail and mail addresses);
    • Driver's License type, restrictions and expiry date;
    • Passport number and expiry date. (Note any travel restrictions), and
    • Availability. Be as precise as possible.
  • Skills and Training;
    • Highest level of education attained, including degrees obtained and major subjects studied;
    • Military, Private Security or Police training courses successfully completed;
    • Languages spoken/comprehended and written (fluent, working or basic), and
    • Hobbies, recreation, volunteer activities and general interests.
  • Previous relevant work experience to include;
    • Duties and responsibilities;
    • Number of subordinates under your direct supervision or command;
    • Awards or Decorations as a result of your actions, and
    • Name and Contact information (voice and e-mail) of immediate supervisor.
  • Three (3) Personal and Professional References each. Include name, phone and e-mail addresses. Personal References are not to be directly related to you and should be representative of your hobbies, recreation, volunteer activities, general interests and general character. Professional references should be current and knowledgeable of your relevant employment and your abilities in these positions.
  • Goals and aspirations you hope to attain through employment with Bastion Security.
Please note that; honesty, integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions, is critical to the Security Operations undertaken by Bastion Security. Considerable responsibility is delegated to field personnel at all levels as Team Members may be working alone or in small groups without direct supervision from Team Leaders or Management during the course of the Operation.
