Security Services Summary

        Bastion Security provides a complete range of security services in support of clients operating in High-Risk situations and/or Remote locations globally. All Security Operations performed by Bastion Security have the same objective; to provide effective protection of those assets owned and/or controlled by the client which are critical to its existence, operations, net worth and objectives. Those assets may fall under the following categories;

    • Fixed;

    • Portable (mobile, or static);

    • Human, and

    • Intellectual.

        The system created by Bastion Security is designed for one purpose: To detect and identify threats and predict their targets in advance of an attack in order to provide sufficient warning for the protection teams to allow them to plan a course of action which will ensure that the resources required to effectively avoid, deter or negate that threat are made available at the required time, in the required location.

Structure of Security Operations

        The only real difference between any given security operation is the size, geographic separation, risk level, length of time operating in these areas, and the client requirements. Any of these factors can change over time and the security must be able to adapt to reflect the reality of the situation. At the basic level, the different tasks, duties and responsibilities which may be required to protect the client assets can be broken down into the following categories;

Primary

Secondary

Tertiary

Operations Management

Consulting

Service Support

Asset Protection

Training

Intelligence

        The actual duties, responsibilities, actions, resources and locations/times which are required to complete any security task are referred to as a Service Module and can be expected to be similar every time that task is performed. The modular nature of the Security Teams allow elements to be inserted (or removed when their tasks are finished) into existing security operations, whether they are performed exclusively by Bastion Security, or are controlled by external security forces and utilize Bastion Security Teams to increase their effectiveness.  The scalability of the system designed and utilized by Bastion Security allows for this insertion, or extraction, of teams with minimal delay as the duties and responsibilities of each element are known in advance. More than one specific skill set, or task type, may be required at any given time or place and there are very few security companies which can realistically provide all the required services and/or resources required to perform the necessary tasks in High risk situations. Bastion Security is one of those companies which can.

Security Tasks

        The Security plan divides and assigns the various actions, policies and responsibilities required to provide effective protection of any number of targets. This approach ensures that all aspects are covered and that no critical detail is omitted when stress and fatigue levels increase significantly. The actual services which are provided by each element of the Security Team are called Service Modules which describe the duties, responsibilities, resources, effort, locations, and timelines required to perform that task and can be expected to be present in most, if not all instances of that task. During any operation, any combination of service modules may be performed consecutively, or concurrently, as required depending on the situation.

        Operation Management Team

        The primary task of the Management Team is the identification, classification and ranking of potential targets (assets which are deemed to be critical to the client's structure, operations, objectives and net worth). Management Service Modules are as follows;

      • Assess and Influence Situation within Area all Task Forces will be operating;

      • Create and implement Security Plan;

      • Command and Control Security Elements, and

      • De-Brief, Assess and Evaluate Performance of Key Players.

        Protection Task Force

        Protection Tasks performed by Bastion Security are concerned with the physical protection of assets owned by the client, whether they are located on-site, off-site, or in transit. Of secondary concern are assets not owned by the client, but under its effective control, and assets controlled by external organizations which will have a significant impact on the operations or net worth of the client if threatened. Protection Service Modules are as follows;

      • Estimate Situation and create Protection Plan(s);

      • Provide Direct Protection of the Targetted Asset(s);

      • Provide Indirect Protection of the Targetted Asset(s);

      • Provide Direct Support of Asset Protection Team(s);

      • Provide Indirect Support of Asset Protection Team(s), and

      • React to an Attack (Emergency Response).

        Intelligence Task Force

        Intelligence Tasks are primarily concerned with the identification, classification and ranking of potential threats (both real and perceived) to the client's structure, operations, objectives and net worth. Of a secondary nature, but no less important, is the need to deny information (or provide mis-information) to those threats. Intelligence Service Modules are as follows;

      • Basic Intelligence;

      • Current Intelligence;

      • Threat Prediction;

      • Threat Modelling;

      • Threat Assessment, and

      • Counter-Intelligence.

        Consulting Task Force

        Consulting Teams are utilized to create, analyze, and critique the implementation of, the security plan. Of particular interest are its strengths, weaknesses and relevance with respect to the current and potential threats. Assessment, Investigation and Special Function tasks can be performed, as required, to support existing security operations. Consulting Service Modules are as follows;

Assessment

Investigation

Special Function

  • Vulnerability Assessments;

  • Attack Analysis, and

  • Security Effectiveness Exercises.

  • Internal Inquiry;

  • Undercover Investigations, and

  • Asset Location.

  • Counter-Espionage;

  • Asset Retrieval, and

  • Client Specific Tasks.

        Training Task Force

        Their focus is to increase the knowledge and skill of the various elements of the Client's Security Team through Formal Courses and through Informal Seminars which increase the awareness of the client's staff, of security issues which they can expect to encounter, while operating in High-Risk situations, and Remote Sites. An aware, or educated, client dramatically increases the effectiveness of the Security Teams. Training Service Modules are as follows;

Formal Training Courses

Informal Seminars

General Courses

  • Theory and Conduct of High-Risk Security Operations;

  • Theory and Conduct of Security Intelligence Tasks;

  • Theory and Conduct of Training Tasks;

  • Leadership.

Security Team Specific Courses

   Courses are designed for security personnel who will be performing the duties and responsibilities of the various positions within the following Task Forces;

  • Protection;

  • Intelligence;

  • Consulting and

  • Management.

   Informal seminars are designed primarily to promote security awareness knowledge and skills to clients who are, or will be, operating in high-risk areas, or remote sites, and have no formal security training, or experience.  The aim is not to create security professionals, but to give those who may be working/travelling alone, or supported by High-Risk Security Teams, a general understanding of the relationships between the key players involved in any given situation, and common-sense tips on how to identify and then avoid or deter the threats before an attack. Examples of subjects which may be included in any given seminar are;

  • General Security Precautions;

  • Target-Threat relationship. (How, what and why targets are chosen by threats, dynamics of an attack, etc.);

  • Working with High-Risk security teams;

  • Situational Awareness;, Risk assessment and mitigation;

  • Defensive Tactics and Practical Skills;

  • Emergency Response / Evacuation Planning, and

  • Escape and Evasion.

        Service Support Task Force

        The duties and composition of the Support Task Force will be dictated by the operational effectiveness, logistical, and administrative support requirements of the Operation. They may be necessary to ensure that the required infrastructure, equipment and supplies, logistic and administrative concerns are addressed and actioned. Examples of Service Support Modules include;

Operations Support

Logistics Support

Administrative Support

  • Communications;
